Standing on the site of the ancient Cathedral of Lentini, which was destroyed in 1693 by an earthquake, the small church takes its name from the only bell saved from the ancient Cathedral’s ruins. A 20th century building, it is usually not open to worship but on May 9th each year, the procession of the "The Holy Heart of St. Alfio" starts here, opening the great Patrons’ festivities.
